URA development work that is underway in the Western region of Singapore is set to boost connectivity, create new business/ employment opportunities and enhance amenities around J’den’ neighbourhood.
Keys areas that will positively impact J’den include:
1. By 2035, the West will be served by 6 rail lines
With the introduction of the Jurong Region Line and Cross Island Line, residents will have more commuting options. The future Jurong East Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) will allow residents to easily switch between transport modes and add vibrancy to the area. The introduction of new mobility corridors in the West will also make it easier to travel around the precinct.
2. Increase business and employment opportunities
More opportunities await in three new employment areas – Jurong Lake District (JLD), Jurong Innovation District (JID) and Tuas Port. This can impact J’den’ capital appreciation and increase rental opportunities.
3. Greener Way of Life
More lush green spaces, parks and nature corridors will be developed to allow biodiversity to thrive and co-exist in harmony with residents. By integrating developments with greenery, residents will be able to enjoy a good quality living environment. A major feature is the 100m-wide, 5km-long Forest Corridor near Tengah Town which forms part of a larger ecological pathway connecting the Western and Central Catchment Areas. Jurong Lake Gardens and the new Science Centre next to Chinese Garden MRT station are slated to be ready around 2025.
